Imagezzz!

We have been learning about the different types of images in my website design class. I honestly had never thought about the different types of images--the extent of my knowledge was "this is a good picture and has a high resolution and a lot of pixels" and "this is a bad picture and has a low resolution and a low number of pixels."

PNG = Portable Network Graphics
GIF = Graphics Interchange Format
JPEG= Joint Photographic Experts Group
PSD = Photoshop document

We have learned about PNG, GIF, JPG, and PSD. PNG is the best for any type of logo and for transparency. GIF is used for smaller files because they have a reduced color set. JPG is good for photographs. PSD images do not even show up on websites because that file is specifically for Photoshop.

I find the information difficult to understand and wish that I could find a good website that fully explained everything! Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to research some more!
